Best Creative Work Before UNSW: HSC Major Architectural Design Project 2015

This is a render of my HSC Major Design Project in which I used Archicad18 to design a high-rise residential apartment, with the intent and purpose of the design to increase quantity of housing based on the idealistic principle of evading urban sprawl in the over populated city area of Sydney, Australia. Through implementing considerations of the high population density in Sydney, the intent was to produce a residential apartment that maximises space while providing elements of privacy between apartments, as well as providing central spaces for social interaction. 

A Great Piece of Architecture: Nakagin Capsule Tower

Architect Kisho Kurokawa designed the Nakagin Capsule Tower in Shimbashi, Tokyo, Japan in 1972 during the time of the architectural movement of the Japanese Metabolism. The capsule architecture design was intentionally built for permanent and practical use following Japan's postwar cultural resurgence. It presents as a great piece of architecture as it speaks of its time and place and of the events that occurred during its time, whilst also yearning for timelessness in its unique geometrical design of practicality and functionality.

An Original Picture of Something Beautiful: Sydney's Lunar New Year Display

Sydney's 2016 Lunar New Year festival display, celebrates the cultural foods and traditions of the Chinese Lunar New Year. I believe it is beautiful as it reminds me of the festive traditions and culture that I was able to experience in which the lanterns hanging over the communal eating space influenced and invited people to join together on a cultural day to eat together; reflecting the Chinese New Year traditions of feasting with family and friends. I also think it is beautiful as the lanterns created a space of which influenced the way people moved within their environment and enjoy the space.
